It is rare that I find a product that really stands up to its name. Joy perfume is one of those rare finds. It is pure joy in a bottle. I actually feel my mood lifted when I put on this classic fragrance. Since this fragrance for women has had such a profound impact on my outlook, I thought that I’d look into the history of Joy perfume.
This scent has been around since 1930. This came as a big surprise to me because I feel that Joy perfume has a very young spirit. There is a lot of energy in the fragrance and while this is difficult to really describe many know what I mean when I describe the fragrance for women as youthful and energetic.
Joy perfume was one of the most expensive fragrances when it initially hit the market. This scent was very popular among the very wealthy but the everyday woman was out of luck. The costliness was due to the concentration of the essential oils.
While the product cost a lot, a little of the fragrance went a long way. Joy perfume has lasting power and it doesn’t take much to achieve the right amount of scent that will last all day and into the evening. Other fragrances disappear in little time at all and require additional applications.

Beauty is an ecstasy; it is as simple as hunger. There is really nothing to be said about it. It is like the perfume of a rose: you can smell it and that is all.

Jean Patou was the mastermind behind Joy perfume. He introduced this classic fragrance in 1930 and the scent has been a traditional favorite ever since. Initially embraced by the wealthy, this product became a desirable addition to a lady’s fragrance collection that most women only dreamed about.
Today, Joy perfume is accessible to the average lady. This comes as great news to many of us who really enjoy a classic scent that withstands the tests of time. The scent is flowery but not the sweet, syrupy type of floral smell that you may expect. The bouquet is well-chosen.
Jean Patou chose rose and jasmine for his timeless fragrance. This combination is well balanced and rich but it is still light and fresh as well. The only way to really understand the fragrance is to try it. Many trendy scents come and go but few have really made their mark on society like Joy perfume.
This fragrance has stood the test of time and it has lived up to its name for nearly eighty years. I imagine that Joy perfume will be around for many generations to come.
