This season, two piece prom dresses are all the rage. Every day, I see teens come into the fashion store looking for a two piece formal dress. Even for plus size dresses, two-piece is the style. It is strange to me. It seems like people can't even tell what is flattering on them and what isn't. A lot of them ask my advice, but I know better than to give it. You really have to feel a customer out and see what they want from you. Rarely do they want the truth. More often, they want you to confirm the decision they have already made. They are looking to you to tell them that their taste is good. Rarely do I disappoint. After all, I want to make the sale.
I know that for many girls, prom is the first time that they get to feel like a full-fledged woman. Even so, I think two piece prom dresses are overdoing it a little bit. I understand strapless evening gowns, figure hugging dresses and all the rest, but some styles are just going overboard. I have never seen a two piece prom dress that doesn't look tacky. And I mean that – never. Many of these girls are going to look back at their prom pictures and cringe or laugh at themselves. I guess that's alright though. Laughing at yourself is what growing older is all about.

The motion picture is like a picture of a lady in a half- piece bathing suit. If she wore a few more clothes, you might be intrigued. If she wore no clothes at all, you might be shocked. But the way it is, you are occupied with noticing that her knees are too bony and that her toenails are too large. The modern film tries too hard to be real. Its techniques of illusion are so perfect that it requires no contribution from the audience but a mouthful of popcorn.

Even so, some styles of two piece prom dresses are better than others. I know that this will seem old-fashioned of me, but I have never liked sequins or sparkles. There are shimmering gowns that are just lovely, but two piece prom dresses with sequins are hideous. My favorite two piece dresses are the ones that are made out of diaphanous white silk. If you're going to wear something insubstantial and revealing, you might as well put a bit of mystery and intrigue into it. Two piece prom dresses made of flowing silk, combined with the right heels and the perfect makeup, can create a sensational look. Still, most girls go for flash over flare.
The only girls who look very good in two piece prom dresses are the ones with stylish bodies. You know the type I am talking about. I'm referring to the girls who are so thin that you can see their bones. I don't know why people find this attractive, but it is the look nowadays. For more voluptuous women, however, a more traditional evening gown looks far better.
