Not all camouflage pants are military parents. I know a lot of people whose opinions on camouflage pants depends on their opinions of the US military at the moment. If they support our current war, and think that the Army is doing a good job, or if they have friends in the Army, they will wear camouflage cargo pants everywhere they go. If they get disillusioned, however, they will switch to other colors.
In my opinion, camouflage pants are pretty snazzy regardless of your opinion of the military. This is especially true for people who stay outdoors a lot. One of the biggest priorities for modern hunters, fishers, hikers, and other sportsmen is to make as little impact on nature as possible. Of course, this mainly means to not leave a lot of trash around. You want to leave things clean and tidy. Nonetheless, your appearance also plays a role. When you're wearing camouflage clothing, you don't stick out from the background. You feel more in tune with the woods, because you are more in tune with the woods. Even if you aren't wearing cammos, earth tones can set the right atmosphere for a harmonious afternoon hike. Wearing bright flashy clothes, no matter how good they are, just won't do the trick.
| Quote of the Day |
The motion picture is like a picture of a lady in a half- piece bathing suit. If she wore a few more clothes, you might be intrigued. If she wore no clothes at all, you might be shocked. But the way it is, you are occupied with noticing that her knees are too bony and that her toenails are too large. The modern film tries too hard to be real. Its techniques of illusion are so perfect that it requires no contribution from the audience but a mouthful of popcorn.

Whether or not you like camouflage pants, opinions vary about when it is most appropriate to use them. For general purpose outdoor sports, you can always find good camouflage clothing that will do the trick. For hunting, however, there is considerable debate. You see, there are advantages and disadvantages to hunting in camouflage pants. The obvious advantage is that it is harder for your prey to spot you. You won't stick out as much from the woods, so even if you move they might not see you. The main disadvantage is that it is harder for other hunters to see you. Although you are still not likely to get hurt on a hunting trip, it probably does increase the odds when you wear camouflage hunting clothes.
Usually, hunters go all the way for one approach or the other. Either they wear all camouflage, or bright orange clothing. An orange, reflective hunting jacket will make it almost impossible for another hunter not to understand that you are a person. It will, however, make it very difficult for you to catch an animal by surprise. Although animals depend on other senses, sight is one of the most important ways that they know a hunter is there.
